We are thrilled to have Giovanni Figueroa leading the way as the Director of Guards at Fuquay-Varina High School! Giovanni brings a dynamic blend of passion, experience, and vision to our program. His impressive performance background includes renowned ensembles such as First Flight World, Carolina Visual Productions, and East Carolina University. Over the course of his competitive career, Giovanni has had the honor of attending WGI World Championships three times, proudly earning a spot as a finalist on one of those occasions.

His impact as an educator stretches across the state of North Carolina, where he has served as a high school and college director, as well as a sought-after clinician. His teaching resume includes programs such as Northside High School, Dixon Combined Winterguard, Swansboro High School, Southern Nash High School, and Barton College — each one strengthened by his creativity and leadership.

Now at FVHS, Giovanni is dedicated to growing a vibrant, inclusive, and high-achieving guard program. With his energy and commitment, he is excited to elevate our team and help expand the presence of color guard throughout our community!
